One of the happiest times in a woman's life is when her sister or friend announces that they are having a baby. You are extremely excited and can hardly contain yourself, so you go shopping! Baby bath products like a bath mat, shampoo, powder, tub toys. Still all necessary and will always be needed and welcomed. Don't forget wipes and diapers. We all know there will be a time when they are in short supply.
Clothes, clothes, and more clothes. A new mother can never have too many outfits for their new baby.
Other possibilities are announcement cards. They would surely be unexpected and be a great surprise. And what parent doesn't take a million pictures? A few small picture frames would also be perfect additions.

If you are unsure about a color or size or anything at all, don't be afraid to ask one of the parents. But most of all, make it yours and have fun. The joy you put into making it will flow out when it is received.
