7 Tips For Baby's Good Night Sleep

Babies can have big problems trying to get a good night's sleep. Waking up during the night is one of the most common causes of stress for new parents since they get as many sleepless nights as the baby. Sometimes, a baby who just refuses to sleep is quite frustrating to parents who think they are not doing enough to make their kids more comfortable in getting enough sleep.

It is very important that sleep problems should be addressed promptly. Immediate intervention for babies who are not getting enough sleep should be done without a second thought in order to allow the baby to fully grow and develop. A baby who sleeps well can achieve better health and fully grow to its maximum potential. Here are some tips on how to give your baby a good night sleep:

Tip #1: A routine during bed time will help. Babies should be awakened and lulled to bed on the same time of the day. A routine can help your baby compensate for the lost hours he or she had after staying up late at night. The sleep wake cycle of babies takes time to fully develop. Thus, they need a lot of help from parents in order to achieve a routine to signal that it is almost bed time.

Tip #2: Mothers should give ample feeding for their babies during the day time. Babies cry and fuss in their sleep when they are hungry. Waking up hungry can be very frustrating and it needs to be attended to as soon as possible to give adequate feeding during the day. Babies need a lot of nutrition to support the rapid growth of their mind and body. Choose a darkened room from time to time to feed your baby. In this way, you are getting rid off of the distractions which could distract from proper feeding for your child.

Tip #3: A dimly lit area for a baby nap can make a difference. Shorter naps can be achieved at any time throughout the day. A darkened room can encourage your baby to rest and eventually sleep. Babies tend to be stimulated with what they see and they become restless if they are distracted from sleep with glaring lights and loud noise.

Tip #4: Breastfeeding is believed to be the best form of nourishment for babies. Mother's milk can help build the resistance of babies through the colostrum. Colostrum is a substance found in the breastmilk which boosts the immune system of babies in order to fight off any form of illness or infection. When breastfeeding your babies, finish the first breast you offered. In this way, baby can be full and will not wake up to feed during the night.

Tip #5: Use a sling or other baby carriers to help you carry your baby around. In this way, you can help your baby to be more relaxed during the evening. Sleep will surely follow if the baby feels more secure and relaxed.

Tip #6: When night time approaches, avoid too much physical activity or playtime hours with your baby. Keep your evening hours calm and never give your baby too much stimulation. Babies tend to fuss during the night when they are having too much fun or too much raw emotions prior their bed time.

Tip #7: Before you put your baby to bed, give him or her a relaxing warm bath. This can be a part of your daily routine and can be done with a massage. A quiet moment with mom and dad can send off your bundle of joy to dreamland.

Nourish Your Baby's Skin With the Purest Products

Your baby is fragile when he or she is small and growing, and so using the best possible products on your baby's skin is vitally important. The best way for you to nourish your baby's skin is using the purest products around, as these are the products that will provide the greatest benefits without drawbacks like chemicals or potential allergic reactions. Here is what you need to know about nourishing your baby's skin from head to toe with the help of the purest skin care products that the market has to offer..

The skin on your baby is his or her largest organ and also one of the most vitally important. Skin has a porous nature, and so your baby's skin is going to absorb whatever you rub onto it, allowing it to enter into the blood stream. Some baby care products such as baby powder are also capable of being ingested or inhaled by your baby. Because there are so many different ingredients found within baby creams, lotions, shampoos, powders, soaps, oils and ointments, it is vitally important that you choose the purest possible products and know which products contain potential toxins so that they can be avoided.

Unfortunately, many toxic ingredients do not have to be included on labels and so it can be rather challenging for you to determine just what chemicals are being rubbed onto your baby. For example, many types of skin care products use Phthalates, but infants are significantly vulnerable to developmental toxicity and reproductive toxicity from phthalates because their metabolic system is so immature. Anything that includes a fragrance as an ingredient, or that clearly states phthalates on the ingredients list should absolutely be avoided when it comes to the health of your baby.

Many skin care and bath products are also unfortunately contaminated using formaldehyde or 1.4-dioxane, and these are chemicals that have been linked to skin allergies as well as cancer.

Before you apply any ointments, creams, shampoos or other products to your baby's skin, it is vitally important that you figure out just what ingredients you are potentially introducing into your baby's blood stream. Luckily, there are a number of companies on the market now that are working to produce completely natural, pure and organic products for skin care and bath and body, not only for babies but for all ages.

One example of a company that is doing the right thing is Earth Mama Angel Baby, which makes a truly wonderful line of completely 100% natural and certified organic products for baby that use only natural materials with no parabens, no phthalates, no artificial preservatives, no dyes and no fragrances in any of the products. This is a truly impressive line of products, and potentially the purest products that you can use on your baby.

Baby Car Seat Covers - 3 Tips For Selecting the Perfect Cover For Your Baby's Seat

There are many benefits to covering your baby's car seat with a specially designed cover. Since babies are messy little beings who can dirty up fabric rather quickly, you want to cover your baby's seat with something that can easily be removed and washed as needed. You also want to be able to display your baby's personality through his or her seat.

So, how do you go about selecting a seat covers which will look nice in your vehicle yet remain functional and safe for your baby? The following tips are designed to get you thinking about critical factors involved with purchasing a car seat cover.

The Perfect Fit

Make sure the seat cover you purchase was made to fit the exact brand and model of car seat you own. If there are specific models or brands listed on the packaging but yours is not on that list, then you can't assume that it will fit just because the picture on the front of the packaging looks similar to your baby's seat. Dimensions can always be off by just enough to make the seat cover worthless with your individual car seat.

If you have trouble finding a cover that lists your brand or model, there are many on the market that are designed to fit virtually any seat. While these may not have a tailored fit designed just for your car seat, they will fit nicely and do the job they are intended to do...protect your baby's seat from spit ups, spills, and other daily occurrences in the life of a baby!

The Perfect Look

You can now find a wide variety of color schemes, patterns, and designs being offered through a wide variety of baby car seat cover manufacturers. Before you make a final selection, spend some time looking around online to see what patterns and colors appeal to you the most.

You want to ultimately find something that you feel displays the personality of your baby, or perhaps the personality of the name you will be giving your baby if they are not born yet. You may also opt to find a pattern or color scheme that will fit well with the interior of your vehicle, since that is where the seat will be spending most of its time!

The Perfect Fabric

The great thing about baby seat covers is that they can easily be removed and washed. This is the top reason that parents are purchasing car seat covers in record numbers today, but you have to make sure your car seat cover is made from durable, high quality fabric that is not going to rip or tear up easily.

You want your baby car seat cover to be as durable and long lasting as it is stylish and cute! If you are shopping through local stores try to feel the fabric through the packaging if at all possible. Make sure it doesn't feel too thin and ensure that it isn't scratchy or rough feeling as that will become uncomfortable on your baby's skin.

If you are shopping online for your baby's seat cover, read into the type of fabric that is used and try to find something referring to the thickness of the fabric. Try to find the product on Amazon and read reviews from previous customers before making a final selection online.

Have Fun Decorating Your Baby's Room

You've just had a baby! And as a brand new mom, you find that there are a whole new set of tasks and duties thrust upon you now that you have a little one to take care of. One of the very first tasks that you have to accomplish is preparing a nursery for your baby.

Now, if you are the kind of person who loves decorating, you'll find that preparing a nursery is a piece of cake. But if you're the kind of person that doesn't have too much creativity and has a hard time piecing together designs and decor for a room, then decorating your baby's room will prove to be challenging. Of course, if you can afford to hire an interior designer to design your baby's room, that would take the task off your hands. But if you want to be a part of the decorating process and you want to add a personal mother's touch to your baby's room, there are guidelines that you can follow to make it easier for you.

First of all, keep it simple. It doesn't have to be overly decorated, just enough to keep it pretty and functional. Set up a room that will grow with your baby. Keep in mind that as your baby grows, his/her needs will change, as will the room. Eventually, you'll need spaces for books and toys and other things your baby will require. Creating a room that will grow with your baby will save you money and effort in the long run.

Other things to keep in mind: it's better to use neutral colors so as to make it gender-neutral. Earth tones, yellow, green, and other vibrant colors will look good. Sometimes, it's great to have a lovely painting in the ceiling, like balloons, stars, or the sky. Your little one will be mesmerized by it. Also, buy furniture pieces that are durable so you won't have to dispose it as time goes by. It can even last until the teenage years of your baby.

If you want to decorate or change something in the room, without having to spend too much money, you can add items like colorful curtains, or maybe paint the walls with something cheerful, just anything that doesn't really require money but can add something fun to the room. For beddings, you can get some nice, affordable ones if you know where to find them. Beddings are usually capable of changing the look and the mood of a room entirely. So have fun with that.

Decorating your baby's room is actually a fun experience. And as a mom, it's your chance to get hands-on and create this new small world for your baby. So enjoy it!

Hazards in Baby's Nursery - 4 Things to Keep Out of Your Baby's Nursery

You've created a beautiful space in the nursery for your baby, gathered all the essentials and cleaned from ceiling to floor. Your baby's nursery is safe right? Not necessarily. Here are 4 products that should be avoided because they create a hazard in the nursery. You'll be surprised to learn what they are.

Plastic Bottles

These bottles are often made with #7 plastic which contains a hormone disruptor known as BPA or Bisphenol A. BPA interferes with cell division of eggs in female mice and results in eggs having abnormal numbers of chromosomes. This in turn results in mental retardation and many other serious neurological problems. Even though skeptics say that there is no evidence that it causes these problems in humans, mice and humans are very much alike in terms of cell division of eggs. BPA can be released from the bottle to your baby once it has been cleaned with strong detergent or heated. Glass or BPA-free bottles and sippy cups are a safer alternative.

Synthetic Furniture

Furniture made with pressed wood, particle board, and plastics that are coated with finishes made with other than organic products pose a serious threat because babies' hands and mouths are in constant contact. Many are coated with a fire retardant, and in addition off gas chemicals into the air more over time as the seals at the joints weaken. Buy your baby's furniture from companies whose products are made using natural and non-toxic components.

Oil or Latex Paint

Both these paint types contain volatile organic chemicals (VOCs) which off-gas harmful petrochemicals (petroleum based products) for months after the paint in the nursery is dry. Exposure to VOCs can cause respiratory problems, eye irritation, nausea, dizziness, and even cancer. And the worse part is your baby is not able to communicate the problem to you. Choose No-Voc paint for a healthier environment in the nursery.

Carpet

When new carpet is often coated with chemicals that make it stain proof and fire retardant-nothing you want your baby to crawl around on. And the adhesives that are used are often laden with chemicals that off-gas into the room for months. If the carpet is old, regardless of how well it is cleaned, it is a haven for mold, and the padding under it is inaccessible to cleaning. Opt for formaldehyde-free wood floors and area rugs that can be washed.

Sometimes you have little or no control over carpet, paint and furniture choices. Using an air purifier that is specifically designed to remove volatile organic chemicals and other pollutants from the air in your baby's nursery is an excellent solution.
